Galactic Atlas

Doxseri Prime was, by ancient accounts, considered a wing of stable stars rich in planetary diversity and resources. It is now characterized by a preponderance of large and small void wastes that pock the wing in uneven holes, though several beautiful destinations still exist. Its slipstream is infamously unstable due to the expansion and contraction of its void wastes, making it dangerous to navigate beyond the Inner Ring. The remaining societies of Doxseri are often isolated, living in the shadow of once-thriving worlds.

Deep Space lies beyond the reaches of the Outer Ring, where the stellar density of the galactic disk rapidly falls away into immense darkness. Here, stars are few and far between, separated by vast stretches of empty space that isolate entire systems. From many worlds, the galaxy itself appears not as a sky full of stars, but as a distant river of light suspended against the void. Travel through Deep Space is difficult, rare, and at times dangerous. Slipstreams often begin to thin out and become unstable in this region. Many worlds here have never established lasting contact with the civilizations of the Galaxy. Deep Space has remained throughout history as one of the least understood regions of the known universe, and Galactic explorers report strange signals from beyond the last slipstreams, extinct civilizations orbiting dying stars, and silent worlds lit only by the fading light of ancient suns. Habitable worlds here are exceptionally rare, and those that do exist are separated by thousands of lightyears, producing ecosystems and intelligent civilizations unlike anything found in the Rings of the Galaxy.
